Ready. Set. Go!

To get this photo, I needed to be on a bridge just as a scull (unusually, for that spot) launched right beneath, the scullers needed to be pretty still as they strapped-in, I needed to catch the apex of their very first stroke, and —during all this— nobody else needed to be in that (usually busy) stretch of water.

Which is to say this: I love this photo, but I hope it didn’t cost me too much luck.

The body of water is the Colorado River, and my vantage point was the South Congress Bridge, in Austin, Texas.

If I ever manage to go back to Austin, I plan on spending at least a day trying to get a better version of this shot. I’m pretty sure I won’t succeed.
