This is sunrise on lake Walensee, in Switzerland, as seen from the Murg shoreline.

To me —and, hopefully, to many of you— this image is literally breathtaking.

What I find really interesting, though, is thinking about how not-at-all-special of an image it is, for the people living in that area — for whom this is just another boring, plain sunrise.

Sure, this is true for many images, and for many things in general. But, for some reason, when I look at this image, this thought is particularly present in my mind.
